The Doula Hive Team
Meet Rachel
CEO + Co-founder
My name is Rachel Coughlin, cofounder of Doula Hive. I am a Birth Doula, Body Ready Method Pro, Hypnobabies Childbirth Educator,Birth Photographer, and Certified Health Coach. For more than a decade, I have been providing a distinguished level of care and evidence-based support to families in my community. Through in-depth training, I have learned many tools to physically and emotionally comfort a parent, on the path to bringing their baby into their arms. That journey, and the weeks after are a wondrous time, one that requires the utmost respect and consideration. My own experience as a mother of 3 has helped shape me into the doula I am today.
I started my journey as a birth worker while pregnant with my second child. I was overwhelmed by all I was learning, despite already having had a child. I discovered what the pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey could be when families have the tools they need to create their best experience.
Meet Morgan
CMO + Co-owner
Hello! My name is Morgan Syrja. I am one of the owners of Doula Hive and a fourth generation Tampa native, wife, mom of two and lover of
all things outdoors. I have always been nurturing by nature and became a caregiver at a young age. Lived experiences have led me to take special interest in the wellness of families. I have over ten years
of experience in family and household support. My path opened to birth work when I had my son in 2017 as a young adult. I decided that I wanted to be the source of support which I really needed at that
time.
I am a labor and postpartum doula as well as a lactation support educator certified through
MaternityWise International, and am a Body Ready Method Pro. Of course, I'm always continuing my education. I believe that birth support should be
accessible to everyone in the community, and I work hard to provide each family that I serve with care
unique to their needs during their sacred journey into parenthood. I have been practicing as a doula for
seven years, and am elated to be rooted with Doula Hive as a full spectrum doula.
Meet Aubrey
COO + Co-owner
Hi! My name is Aubrey and I am one of the owners of Doula Hive. I am a birth doula, postpartum doula specializing in supporting families with multiples, Body Ready Method Pro, lactation counselor, and childbirth educator serving families of the Tampa Bay area. I’m also a mother to 2 beautiful children. I love all things education, activism, and advocacy. I have a background as a Childcare Provider and Medical Technician which I credit to the start of my passion supporting families through all walks of life.
I was introduced to birth work through my own experiences as a teen mom. I struggled during my pregnancy to advocate for myself, knowing what questions to ask, and what my options were as a birthing woman. I often wondered “Is this how everyone feels?” After the birth of my first child freshly postpartum, I fell down a google rabbit hole and discovered what a doula was. I fell in love and made it my goal to empower families so they could take an active role in their care and have informed gratifying experiences. This was my calling… so I took the leap. 6 years (and many births later…) I’m incredibly honored to be a part of the Doula Hive team.

Meet Bejay
Birth + Postpartum Doula
Hey! I'm Bejay Connolly, I am a wife and mother of five. I am originally from Mississippi, but have planted roots in Tampa for the better half of 25 years. I am a trained birth doula with Mama Glow and postpartum & infant care doula with ProDoula. In my postpartum work I specialize in supporting families of multiples and am working towards becoming a certified lactation educator to further support new parents in their feeding journeys.
My interest in birth work began when I entered nursing school as a teen mom. I knew that after completing nursing school that I did not want to be a nurse, but I knew that I wanted to help families, I was just not sure in what capacity I could do so. It wasn’t until I got pregnant with my fourth baby that I had my ‘aha’ moment and realized that being a doula was my true calling. I really fell in love with the level of care that I received from my midwifery team and thought man everyone one deserves that! It was extra comforting to know that there was a midwife on board who looked like me.
My goal is to not only provide compassionate and knowledgeable care to families during one of the most transformative times of their lives. But also, being a familiar face and providing that same level of comfort that I received to our black and brown families!
Bejay is part of our Mentorship Team, and accepts Doula clients through Doula Hive.
Meet Katherine
Birth + Postpartum Doula
Hi! I'm Katherine, a Certified Postpartum Doula. With four years of experience supporting families, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside birth parents during some of the most powerful and transformative moments of their lives.
Inspired by this work, I’m currently pursuing certification through the ICEA Postpartum Doula Program. I am also CPR, AED, and First Aid certified for both adults and pediatrics, so safety and preparedness are always part of the care I provide.
My approach is rooted in attentive listening and meaningful communication. I believe every family’s story is unique, and I am passionate about understanding each birth parent's goals whether that means emotional support, practical help, or simply holding space during those early weeks of adjustment.
I have experience working with families from a range of financial backgrounds and understand that every parent supports their baby in different ways. I’m committed to being flexible, compassionate, and present with each family I serve.
As part of the Hive Collective, I’m continuing to learn and grow in my role, with an openness to expanding into birth doula work in the future. I am honored to be part of a community that values connection, healing, and personalized care.
Meet Whitney
Birth + Postpartum Doula
Hey! I'm Whitney Latoya, a seasoned full-spectrum birth and end-of-life doula with over 18 years of experience serving families in the Tampa Bay area. I am the founder of The Doula Ministry.
I am trained in full-spectrum birth and death care, lactation, and maternal-child community health. My work specializes in prenatal, birth, postpartum, bereavement, end-of-life support, lactation services, and childbirth education.
As a proud African-American woman and Christian, I have personally experienced the healthcare challenges often faced by communities of color. My mission is to provide culturally sensitive and spiritually grounded care that nurtures not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
My journey into birth work was deeply personal shaped by three natural, non-medicated births and the grief of miscarriage. These life-changing moments led me to expand The Doula Ministry’s services to include end-of-life support, especially after the passing of my beloved mother to organ failure. Her transition revealed a new calling: to support others through life’s final chapter with dignity, love, and spiritual guidance.
Guided by my faith, I view birth and death as sacred, interconnected milestones. Much like a candle lighting another, or the eternal flow of the infinity symbol, I believe these transitions deserve compassionate, holistic support.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every family deserves to be seen, heard, and supported with dignity and cultural humility. I show up not as an expert above, but as a steady presence beside families—listening, educating, and uplifting them through some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
This approach aligns beautifully with Doula Hive’s mission of inclusive, equitable, and community-driven care. I believe deeply in the power of shared knowledge, professional integrity, and showing up with heart.

Recognizing a gap in comprehensive family chiropractic care, Dr. Crystal Corona founded Grounded Wellness Chiropractic, a space where holistic, patient-focused healing thrives. I’m a mother of two and grandmother to my angel baby Jalaïa, whose memory inspired me to open my own practice. After experiencing her heartbreaking loss, I felt called to provide high quality scans to support other families and help prevent similar tragedies.

Meet Nikki
Daytime Postpartum Doula
Hi! I'm Nikki, a single mom to a beautiful 3 year old little girl. Through my own personal postpartum journey, I’ve learned just how important this time is for mothers not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. It was through that experience that I found my passion for supporting families during the postpartum period, and I’m now dedicated to to offer guidance, care, and a steady presence as they navigate early parenthood.
I currently serve families as a Doula and am working toward my full postpartum doula certification. I am CPR certified and bring knowledge in lactation and nutrition to support families holistically.
My philosophy is simple. Mothers need someone who truly gets it. Someone who has been there, who can offer a steady presence and understanding during the messy, beautiful, and overwhelming postpartum days. I aim to be that rock for moms, the same way I wish I had during my own journey.
It brings me joy to offer not only practical support but also to be a familiar, empathetic face who can hold space for families in their unique parenting path.
